Sr. Drilling Engineer - Stavanger

The senior drilling engineer is accountable for:

Executing Drilling, Completion and Abandonment activities for a specific Drilling Unit including:

* HSE and Q
* Operational performance
* Operations Planning, Well Execution and Wrap up phases of the CoP Wells Business Process
* Resource Management
* Knowledge / experience transfer
* Schedule & Cost performance
* Regulatory, corporate & local policy compliances

Tasks:

* To implement safe, environmentally sound and efficient well operations
* To ensure regulatory and corporate policy conformance in all well operations.
* To ensure that required approvals are obtained prior to initiation of any activity and that the activity is then conducted in accordance with the approvals received.
* To develop realistic Cost Estimates which reflect an appropriate level of contingency
* To manage Well Projects utilizing the Well Planning Process during Ops Planning & Execution: assist in the preparation of required key documents.
* To prepare Risk Analysis and mitigation plans as appropriate.
* To recommend implementation of new techniques and practices.
* To follow up on significant problems & make recommendations for improvement.
* To document Lessons Learned in agreed databases and utilize in future plans.
* To provide technical assistance & operational analysis to offshore personnel.
* To track and analyse operational performance.
* To assist the Cost Analyst in tracking costs, etc.
* To actively monitor costs performance during the well operations including completion.
* To monitor daily Drilling Reporting System (WELLVIEW) input to ensure data integrity.
* To provide daily and weekly project status reports and information for Management
* To provide guidance and instructions to the selected service companies.
* To order equipment within company policy.
* To maintain good communications and awareness amongst well operations related sections by holding onshore pre-spud or pre-workover meetings.
* To provide offshore support by holding pre-spud meetings, and assistance during critical drilling and workover operations, such as casing/cementing jobs.
* To assist the Drilling Supervisor in the coordination of offshore requirements and day- to-day events.
* To perform weekend duty as required per Duty Guidelines.
* To perform Contract Administration as required.
